I often get the following question: Is it possible for sub-accounts to share the parent account tunnel? and the answer to this question is YES!!
In a nutshell this is what you need to do:
- Start the "Sauce Connect Secure Tunnel Application" from the parent account like this: sc -u USERNAME -k ACCESS_KEY --shared-tunnel
- Edit the test script that will be run from the sub-account adding the following to the Desired Capabilities: 'parent-tunnel' : "PARENT ACCOUNT USERNAME"
- Execute the test from the sub-account
For reference I have attached a screenshot showing a sub-account that used the parent account tunnel and finished running a successful test. Notice the two clouds on the sub-account upper right corner, next to the username. These two clouds are an indication that this sub-account has access to its parent account tunnel. Also notice that for this test the "Sauce Connect" cloud is green, which means that this test ran through the Sauce Connect Tunnel that the parent account had previously established.
